Rapunzel and Steph Curry Cakes

Here are the cakes that I was priviledged to make this week!

The Rapunzel cake looks simple enough right! That hair though. lol. I had to concentrate and make sure it went the right way. I had to scrape it off a few times because it wasn’t turning out the way I wanted it to! It turned out fantastic. The birthday girl LOVED it!

The Steph Curry inspired cake has a basketball as the sides of the cake and the Golden State Warriors logo on the top. The Entire cake was made with colored buttercream icing!

If you have a design in mind for a special cake please message me via email or on my Facebook Business Page.

Cakes of all sorts!

Here are the cakes that I just finished up Friday night! Loved how they turned out. Not happy about how the towers started fall before the client was even out of my driveway. They are super top heavy since the roofs are covered in buttercream icing and sprinkles. I sent her with some buttercream icing, royal icing, and sprinkles just in case. The other 2 cakes where for a pair of sisters celebrating their birthdays with a joint party. The inside of the scroll work cake was rainbow with sprinkles that spewed out when it was cut into. The mermaid inspired cake was strawberry cake colored to do a pink ombre’ affect and it also had sprinkles on the inside that spewed out when cut into! They LOVED their cakes. Next time I receive an order for the princess castle cake it will be delivered. That way I can fix any issues that come from traveling with it. I hope it wasn’t to big of a disaster when she arrived home. Fingers crossed. I have been trying to upload the inside of the 2 cakes but for some reason it won’t allow me to. Once I get that figured out I’ll update the post.

What I have been doing lately………

Maker Takeover New Pattern Releases

maker-pattern-takeover

We’ve got almost THIRTY patterns collected here for you this week! Most of them are BRAND NEW, with a few updated favorites included.

A couple of months ago, several of the Mad Mad Makers decided it would be awesomely fun to all release new patterns on the same day and then see how many spots on the Craftsy Leader board we could take over. We had a blast! Craftsy recently changed the look of their leader board, and you can’t see at a glance who the designer is now, so it might not be as much fun this time around, but we’re going to do it again anyway! AND we are including any platform on which Makers publish their patterns to be sure we get everyone included!

Here’s how YOU can get involved:

  • Follow the links to the patterns listed here,
  • give them a FB like, a comment,
  • Pin the ones you especially like,
  • copy the links to your favorites and post them on your own page
  • or create a little summary post to share with your friends and fans.
  • And be sure to save your favorites to your wish list!

We’ve got quite the collection of wonderful patterns here for you, I do believe there is something for everyone here. Enjoy!

Lately…..

I never imagined that baking cakes for others would become anything more than something that happened every once and a great while.  I have been quite busy with cake orders, crocheting, and clay!  I by no means want you to take this as complaining because I am not.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  I love that I am able to help out my family’s financial needs while staying home with the 2 little ones and doing something that I love.

So far this month I have only made 2 cakes and they were both for this past weekend.  I will be starting on my daughter’s 2nd birthday cake tomorrow.   We have decide to purchase the castle cake set from Wilton.  It is going to be epic!  Can’t wait to share pictures of the finished product!

I have made many new crocheted items that I have/will add to my Etsy shop.  In the Makers network that I am in we have begun to trade items between shops for the holidays.  I have gained many new patterns that I can not wait to try out!  I have even bought some yummy yarns for certain projects!  I have also gained 8 new stitch markers that I LOVE!  I will have to show them off to you soon.  The sister-in-law borrowed my camera to go to the pumpkin patch today.  So not for a couple of days, but hey, that will keep you coming back right?

Well….without further ado.  Here is what I do have pictures of that I am willing to share with you! 😉

Cakes, cakes, and more cakes…………

This is what I have been up to the past few weeks.  I am definitely getting better and starting to enjoy making them since I have a system set up to where I am not doing everything all in one day.

I’m Back……………

I have been so super busy!  I have been trying to get my 3 year old ready for preschool, my 6 year old ready for 2nd grade, and apparently this month is the hot month for me to make cakes!  I am just now starting to get back into the groove with sales starting up for the winter months!  I am always super busy during the colder months.  I have a lot of new things that I have been trying to spread out and keep everyone interacting with my Facebook page as possible!  As a Mad Mad Maker one of the biggest things for me to keep up on is having my present year round.  With 3 kids it is really hard when all they want to do it play outside.  I have had to get creative this year so that I could keep crocheting while they played.    I have been debating with myself whether or not to enter into the local craft shows.  I found a website that allowed me to have the contact info for the 3 biggest ones around Northern Kentucky area.  I am scared to go ahead and enter myself into these craft shows one is because shoppers like instant gratification.  I don’t feel that I have enough merchandise ready to be shipped and out the door for 5000 + shoppers for that fair.  I think that I will be ready for sure next year.  But I have also been looking at the smaller craft shows that are not so local.  I am just so torn on what to do.  If all else fails there is always next year right?!

Anyways here is a few pictures of what I have been up to lately.  Enjoy!

So….Where to begin.  lol I have been quite busy the past few days and have been meaning to post things on here.  So what I am going to do is tell you about my busyness and then show you all kinds of new things!

Started out as a good week was getting things accomplished around the house laundry was going, dishes were being washed.  I then received a phone call from the school nurse informing me that I needed to come and get my son.  He had an accident and needed to go and get possibly a few stitches.  If you know my oldest, you know that this is totally out of the norm.  He has always been the one who doesn’t like to get dirty.  He is definitely not the risk taker.  He is afraid of heights and doesn’t like to rough house.  Took the babies next door to be watched so I could go and get #1 and take him to the doctor.  When I walked into the nurse’s office he was sitting there on the table and you could tell that he had been crying hard.  Thank goodness that the cut was not any worse than what it was.  It was really deep but very small.  Long story short.  We met the hubby at the urgent care close to where we live.  I tried not to tell #1 that he would have to have stitches because he hates being in pain.  He may be the oldest but he is the biggest baby out of all 3 of them. I wish that I would have video taped the procedure.  I could have submitted it to America’s Funniest Videos and possibly won!

Now onto some crafty stuff!  I recently posted on my Facebook page a question of what would everyone like to see next in the shop for crochet hooks.  I got many responses.  I chose one so far.  I plan on making more of the requests though in due time.  So here is what I have been working on lately.  Enjoy the show!
